The indefinite curfew clamped in Chirang district following the murder of a schoolgirl and recovery of two bodies was relaxed during daytime today with no report of violence.

According to the district administration, the curfew was relaxed from 6 am to 7 pm.

Authorities had initially imposed a night curfew on March 29 from 6pm to 6am in areas under the Amguri and Bijni police stations of the district as preventive measure, but later made it indefinite.

It was relaxed for two hours yesterday.

Four persons - identified as Asadul Sikdar, Asmat Sikdar, Jahanubin Sheikh and Babul Talukdar - were arrested for allegedly killing the girl.

They four were identified by the other girl.
