Former MLAs Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu of SAD and Harminder Singh Jassi of Congress filed their nominations for bypoll to the Talwandi Sabo Assembly seat today.
Harjeet Singh of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) filed his papers for the Patiala Assembly seat. Bypoll to the two Assembly segments will be held on August 21.
With the filing of three more nominations today, five candidates are in the fray from the Patiala Assembly seat, while the number in Talwandi Sabo constituency is three.

Disclosing this here, Punjab's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V K Singh said for the by-election of Patiala Assembly constituency Harjeet Singh has filed his nomination as the candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party, Balbir Singh as Independent candidate and Amrik Singh as Independent.
Bhagwan Dass of Shiromani Akali Dal and Rajinder Singh Pawar as Independent candidates have already filed their nomination papers for Patiala seat.
Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu of Shiromani Akali Dal, Harminder Singh Jassi and his wife Manmeet Kaur of Indian National Congress have filed their nomination papers for Talwandi Sabo assembly constituency, the CEO said.
He reiterated that candidates could file their nomination papers before the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)-cum-Returning Officers till tomorrow.
Bypoll to Talwandi Sabo and Patiala assembly seats in Punjab will be held on August 21 while counting would be held on August 25.
Patiala Assembly seat was vacated by Amarinder Singh after he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Amritsar, defeating BJP stalwart Arun Jaitley.
Talwandi Sabo seat fell vacant after sitting Congress MLA Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu deserted the party to join Ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
