A former serviceman was killed in a road mishap and 15 women were detained alongwith 300 litres of country liquour in Assam's Kamrup district, police said today.
A speeding bus knocked down a 50-year old former army man at Boko on National Highway 37 late last night.
The person has been identified as Krishna Kanta Boro and his body has been sent for postmortem to Guwahati Medical College Hospital.
In another incident, the excise department seized 3000 litres of country liquour from a Guwahati-bound bus at Rangiya on National Highway 31 and 15 women have been detained in this connection.
The bus has been seized and further investigations were on, police added.
