Global open online education provider Coursera has appointed Nikhil Sinha as Senior Adviser Global Initiatives.
Sinha will play a key role in developing Coursera's international strategy and partnerships in order to grow its community. Currently over 140 top universities offers online courses to over 17 million registered learners globally.
Sinha was until recently the founding Vice Chancellor of the Shiv Nadar University.
"I believe online education will play a significant role in opening new doors for many millions of capable people in India and all over the world," Sinha said.
On his appointment, Rick Levin, CEO, Coursera said, "we are thrilled to welcome Nikhil to the Coursera team. Nikhil brings with him a rich blend of leadership experiences from both the academic and the corporate sectors."

Oyo Rooms named 'Digital Startup of the Year' by IAMAI * Branded hotel accommodation aggregator Oyo Rooms today said it has been awarded the 'Digital Startup of the Year' at the sixth edition of India Digital Awards, conferred by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

* Taxi aggregator app Ola today said Ola Shuttle service will be available for its enterprise customers, enabling corporate employees to pay for their ride through the Ola Corporate accounts of their company.
Ola runs over 500 shuttles live across over 100 routes in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Under Ola Corporate, it has over 2,000 corporates across start-ups, SMBs, Indian conglomerates and multi-nationals on board.

Asus appoints Campos as Mkt Dir of mobile division in India * Technology major Asus today appointed Marcel Campos as the Marketing Director of its mobile division in the country.
He brings with him 15 years of experience in marketing and branding and will be responsible for introducing and executing integrated strategies that support Asus' business plans, Asus said in a statement.

Cargill opens dielectric fluid FR3 unit in Maharashtra * Cargill India today said it has opened a manufacturing facility for dielectric fluid FR3 with an investment of Rs 6 crore in Kurkumbh, Maharashtra.
The dielectric fluid, which was previously imported from the United States, will now be manufactured in India by using Cargill's patented technology, the company said in a statement.
