Four insurgents of militant group All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), who had set off a serial blast in the state capital city on October 1, 2008 were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court.
Additional District and Sessions Judge of West Tripura S B Dutta pronounced the verdict and awarded life imprisonment to Dinesh Debbarma, Sachindra Debbarma, Bikash Debbarma and Kumaria Debbarma.
Three other accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
The Police said 78 people were injured in four blasts and a mobile phone was recovered from the blast site.
On the basis of information recovered from the SIM card of the mobile phone, the culprits were tracked down, they said.
