Four feared drowned in Vizag

Three local students and one person from Uttar Pradesh were feared to have drowned when they had gone to bathe at the RK beach near Gokul Park here this evening, police said.

"Seven class X students of a private school at Allipuram area in the city had gone to the beach to bathe. However, four of them were caught in a strong current, which took them deep inside the sea," Inspector of Maharanipeta R Govinda Rao said.

A foreigner, who was taking a stroll on the beach jumped into the beach to save all the four, but managed to rescue one of them, he said.
 

The missing students were identified as K Rohit Kumar, M Ganesh Kumar and Abdul Jabbar.

One member of the group of marketing executives from Uttar Pradesh was also feared drowned at the same spot. He has been identified as one Shariff.

District Collector N Yuvraj and City Police Chief Amit Garg visited the spot and instructed the cops to intensify the search operations.
