Four persons were killed and five policemen critically injured when a speeding truck hit a jeep here, police said.
The truck hit the police jeep, injuring a sub-inspector and four constables, and crushing four others standing alongside the road to death, Jiya Lal Yadav, Additional Superintendent of Police said.
The injured were rushed to hospital, Yadav said, adding, that their condition was stated to be critical.
The truck driver fled from the spot, leaving behind his vehicle, he said.
Police is trying to ascertain the identity of those killed.
