Four killed in UP road accidents

Four persons, including a 45-year-old woman, were killed in separate road accidents here.

In the first incident, 45-year-old Uma Devi and her son Akshay (25) died today after the bike they were travelling in was hit by a speeding truck on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway, police said.

In another incident, two persons travelling on a bike died after their vehicle allegedly hit a divider on the Meerut-Karnal Highwaynear Bitawda village in the district, they said.

The deceased have been identified as Devender (26) and Mohit (24), police added.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed anguish over the deaths in the accident and directed officials to provide necessary medical treatment to the injured persons, a release from his office stated.
