Four persons, including three children, from the same family were killed and others received serious injuries in a fire due to cooking gas leakage in their house in Majhwara bazar area here, police said today.

Krishna Jaiswal (40), his sons Kuber(8), Anand (6) and daughter(2) were killed. Krishna's wife and three others received serious burn injuries, they said.

The incident occurred late last night when Jaiswal got up to light mosquito repellent after which there was a power cut and the house caught fire, police said.

Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Singh said prima facie it appeared that there was a leakage in LPG cylinder. Thus, the house caught fire when the match was lit for lighting mosquito repellent.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem, while the injured were admitted to district hospital, police said, adding that, the house has been totally razed.
