Four students held for possession of ganja

Four B Tech students were today arrested for allegedly carrying three kilograms of ganja in Araku area near here today, police said.

The Araku Valley police recovered the ganja from the students, who are pursuing B Tech course in various private institutions in Visakhapatnam city.

Araku Valley police station inspector Simhadri Naidu said the students have got addicted to the narcotic drug and they had came to Araku for procuring the contraband.

"Acting on a tip-off, we nabbed the accused while they were transporting the drug to Visakhapatnam from Araku," Naidu said.

Police have registered a case under various sections of NDPC Act and investigation is on.
