Eminent freedom fighter Bhikari Charan Mohanty passed away at a private hospital here today, family sources said.
He was 94 and survived by wife Saraswati Mohanty (86), three sons and four daughters.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, All India Freedom Fighters Youth wing president and BJD MP Bhartuhari Mahatab, OPCC president Prasad Harichandan, Badchana MLA Amar Prasad Satpathy and others condoled Mohanty's death describing him as a "great son of the country."

Mohanty, a close associate of Badachana Gandhi, the late Brundaban Tripathy, was imprisoned twice during Quit India Movement.
Bhikari Babu was known among the freedom fighters for his revolutionary songs, said Pradesh Freedom Fighters Samiti president Bhabani Charan Patnaik.
Mohaty's last rites were performed at his native Krushnanagar village in Jajpur district.
