Day temperatures in Gangetic West Bengal remained below the 40 degrees Celsius mark today with the MeT department forecasting thunderstorm accompanied with squall in parts of the region in the next few days.
While the day's highest temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius was recorded at Bankura, Kolkata followed at 38.5 degrees Celsius, according to the MeT department.
Other places in Gangetic West Bengal also remained cooler since the last few days compared to the sizzling heat that had engulfed the region for weeks.
