A girl was allegedly
kidnapped from her residence in Zira area here by four youths, police said today.
Jasbir Singh, who belongs to Guruharsahai, along with his three friends barged inside the girl's residence and kidnapped her last night, Senior Superintendent of Police, Varinder Pal Singh said.
When the relatives of the girl objected, they were thrashed by Jasbir and his friends, he said.
Nachattar Singh and Harbhajan Singh, the two relatives of the girl, were admitted to a hospital, the police official said.
On the complaint made by the girl's family, police registered a case against the four accused, he said adding a manhunt has been launched to arrest them.
Jasbir met the girl in a marriage few days back and the two had been in touch since then, sources said.
According to sources, the girl's family had previously filed a complaint against Jasbir.
The complaint, however, was withdrawn as both groups reached a truce, they said.
