Girl raped in Jalpaiguri district

A 14-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by a quack in Jalpaiguri district, police said today.

The teenaged girl told her parents about the rape following which the locals reportedly called the quack to the area under the guise of work and assaulted him. He was then handed over to the police.

The girl was rushed to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital here last night after falling sick, police said.

The quack had been visiting the area for the past seven months, the police added.
