British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has filed legal papers against his former business partner in a bid to force him to share the costs of a lawsuit over their failed restaurant venture.

The fiery TV cook has been embroiled in a legal battle with the landlord over his now-defunct The Fat Cow eaterie since August, reported TMZ online.

Ramsay closed the Los Angeles site in March and the landlord sued him for breaking their long-term lease contract and demanded USD 6 million from the chef to cover missed rent.

Ramsay, 48, has now filed court documents to force his ex-business partner Rowen Seibel to share the financial burden of the lawsuit.

The cook claims he and Seibel agreed to split any potential legal costs equally when they opened the restaurant in 2012.

Ramsay wants Seibel to pay his share of the USD 300,000 legal fees and to cover half of the USD 6 million if he loses the case.
