Govt will work on removing problems in sports quota: Akhilesh

The Uttar Pradesh government will have a system in force to "remove problems" that sporstpersons are facing in availing the sports quota in state jobs, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said.

"Most of the sportspersons present here have mentioned the problem in getting jobs...In the days to come we will have a system in force so that sportspersons could get jobs. The problems coming in its way would also be removed", he said.

He said that he was aware that sportspersons were not getting job quota in government jobs and he would work in this regard.

Yadav was speaking during the felicitation of sportspersons from the state who have won laurels in the Asian, Commonwealth and National games.
 

Yadav also announced an increase in the diet money of the sportspersons of sports colleges and hostels of the state.

Akhilesh said the state would adopt the best sports policy and will provide better stadiums and training gear to the sportspersons.

"I would ask the officials concerned to look for the best sports policy in the country and adopt it in the state so that sportsmen get all facilities and opportunities" he said.

"We want to assure our sportspersons that all out efforts would be made to make facilities of international standard available to them...Good stadiums, training, sports gear is made available to them and along with sportspersons and

their coaches would also be felicitated", he added.

Claiming that sportspersons in the country were not getting the kind of facilities as are available to those from other countries, Yadav said that despite odds they are achieving glory and deserved to be praised and congratulated.
