Graft case against 3 Delhi Police constables

Three Delhi Police constable have been booked by Vigilance department for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs one lakh from a slum dweller, a senior official said today.

The complainant in his statement had alleged that constables Vijay, Bir Singh and a Head Constable of Kalyanpuri police station had demanded the amount from him on Tuesday last in lieu of giving permission to him carry out repair work of his jhuggi.

"The complainant sought time till evening and agreed to pay the money. Later in the day one of the police personnel talked to the complainant on his mobile and the conversation between them was recorded by the complainant," DCP, Vigilance Branch said.
 

The complainant handed over the audio recording to the Vigilance Branch yesterday.

The DCP said that later on the basis of the complainants statement a case was registered against the police personnel adding that investigation is on.
