Groundnut oil prices slipped in an otherwise listless oils and oilseeds market today due to lower demand from stockist and retailer.

Refined palmoil moved down further following lack of demand from retailers amidst lower Malayasian cues.

Linseed oil maintained a stable trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold, castor oil commercial and linseeds oil prices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

In futures, castorseeds for September contract recovered moderately owing to renewed buying amid higher export orders.

In the edible segment, Groundnut oil fell by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 990 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,000. Refined palmolein eased by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 525 as against Rs 527 previously.

Moving to futures, Castorseeds September contract resumed higher at Rs 3,702, but later fell to Rs 3,680 before recouping to finish at Rs 3,720 from Rs 3,680 previously, showing a gain of Rs 40 per tonne.

Turning to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil all closed unchanged at Rs 3,500, Rs 730 and Rs 730, respectively.
