Guards Regimental Centre's 138 recruits become combat soldier

About 138 recruits of the 99 Recruit Course attained the status of a combat soldier at a passing out parade at the Brigade of the Guards Regimental Centre (GRC) at Kamptee near here.

A colourful ceremonial parade was presented by these proud young guardsmen, who are the newest additions to the armed forces fraternity, a release from the Defence PRO said.

As they crossed the symbolic "last step" in slow march to the famous 'auld layne sang' tune of the band, these recruits formally attained the status of Combat Soldier ready for frontline duties.

Medals were presented to outstanding guardsmen in various disciplines of training.
 

The coveted Overall Best Recruit Trophy was awarded to Prithviraj Singh Rawat of Pratap Training Company.

Brigadier DV Singh, Commandant Guards Regimental Centre, reviewed the parade, the release said.
