Governors of seven states today met here and deliberated on issues regarding protection of tribal rights in the country.
The two-day Gubernatorial meet, hosted by Rajasthan Governor Margret Alva, is attended by Governors of six other states -- Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, official sources said.
Andhra Governor did not attend the meeting.

During the meet, the Governors deliberated on issues regarding the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution which provides protection to tribals living in Scheduled Areas from alienation of their lands and natural resources.
Rajasthan Governor Margret Alva is the convenor of the "Group of Governors" constituted by the President.
