Gur declines on low demand

Gur prices slid by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following subdued demand against adequate stocks.

However, gur prices ruled flat in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar markets on little demand.

Marketmen said thin demand due to off-season amidst sufficient stocks , mainly led to fall in gur prices at markets here.

In Delhi, gur Chakku and Pedi dropped by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal, respectively.

Prices of gur Dhayya too fell by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal.

In Muzaffarnagar, prices ruled around previous levels. However, trading in gur raskat resumed following fresh arrivals and remained unchanged at Rs 2,600-2,650 per quintal.
 

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 2,000-3,000, dhayya Rs 3,100-3,200 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,600-2,650, chakku Rs 2,500-2,700, khurpa Rs N.T. And Ladoo Rs N.T.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,600-2,650 and dhayya Rs N.T.
