Gur prices settle quiet in thin trade

Lethargic conditions persisted at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today with prices after moving both ways in lacklustre trade, ended at previous levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also settled at overnight levels in thin trade.

Marketmen said in the absence of any direction, price movements remained restricted and settled with hardly any change.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,700-3,800, dhayya Rs 4,000-4,100 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs N.Q., chakku Rs 3,125-3,350, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,300-3,350 and dhayya Rs 3,400- 3,450.
