'Harassed' by in-laws, woman ends her life

"Harassed" by her in-laws, a 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Bhakra canal near Ferozepur village of the district.

Amandeep Kaur ended her life yesterday as she was consistently being harassed by her in-laws for dowry, according to the complaint lodged the father of the woman.

Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against Kaur's husband and in-laws.

However, no arrest has been made yet, police added.
