The Haryana government has decided to increase the number of daycare centres for children of construction workers to 88 from the present 22 in the state, Labour and Employment Minister Nayab Singh Saini said.
The daycare centres support in providing education, nutrition and take care the healthcare needs of the children of construction workers.
Saini said the government would also launch programmes to train to construction workers to upgrade their skills.
A campaign would be run to register labourers in the state. The state government is making efforts to raise the standard of living of labourers and their families, he added.
The minister urged the central government to open a State Academy of Construction in Haryana.
