The Madras High Court today dismissed the bail petition filed by a person arrested under charges of raping of a German girl on a running train.
Justice S Nagamuthu dismissed the petition observing that if the accused was enlarged on bail it would hamper on-going investigations.
The accused Chandankumar who was travelling by Chennai-Mangalore West Coast Express had allegedly sexually assaulted the 18-year-old German national in the same coach on January 10 and he was arrested on January 15 after the victim lodged a complaint.
