Press Trust of India Srinagar
Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today rejected the demand of Panun Kashmir for a separate homeland, saying it could stoke a fire that would be impossible to put out.

"Such an idea was a clear reflective of communal thinking ingrained in that party (Panun Kashmir).

"Hurriyat has made it clear that it would never accept the split of Jammu and Kashmir on religious or regional basis since it would stoke fire which would be impossible to douse," Mirwaiz said addressing a gathering at Khanyar here.

He said Kashmiri Pandits were inalienable part of Kashmiri society and as such the community should not heed to the propaganda of communal fanatics.

"They should return to their respective homes in Kashmir," he said.
