Upset over her husband's infidelity, a woman allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself in Peerdad area, police said today.
Chief Ticket Collector (Ludhiana) Paramvir Singh was arrested for abetting suicide of his wife Harwinder Kaur, Assistant Commissioner of Police (West) Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu said.
According to the ACP, the victim shot herself using a 32-bore licensed revolver belonging to her husband.
During interrogation, the victim's family members revealed that Singh was allegedly having an extra-marital affair with another woman, to which Harwinder had objected.
A case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the IPC and a probe in on to ascertain the reason for her taking the extreme step, the ACP said.
