Illegally quarried sand seized

Kendrapara district authorities today seized seven sand-laden tractors on the charge of indulging in illegal sand-lifting from Birupa riverbed near Choudkulat, about 15 km from here.

The seizure was made under the provisions of Odisha minor mineral concession rules, Kendrapara Tehsildar Pravash Kumar Beuria said.

Cases have been registered against the tractor owners and the seized vehicles have been handed over to Kendrapara police.
