Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa today said all Inspection Bungalows in the state will get face lift in a year's time.
Speaking during the discussion on demands for PWD department, he said "there are about 550 IB's in the state, keeping in the mind concerns expressed by the members on their condition, we will take up work."
"All IB's will be given new furniture and they will be developed," he added.

Mahadevappa also requested the members to keep watch on the IB's present in their constituencies so they are not used for illegal activities.
"I will personally look into IB maintenance work so that minimum facilities, cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in them," he added.
Speaking on the National Highways in the state, Mahadevappa said Karnataka with 35 per cent of national highways is at number one position in the country.
After him taking over the Ministry 2000 kms of state highway has been converted into national highway, he added.
Mahadevappa said for the maintenance of 8,540 kms of state highways Rs 280 crore has been kept aside and for the development of 28,870 kms of district highways Rs 489 crore has been earmarked.
Speaking on the ongoing repair work at the total 26 kms of Shiradi Ghat road, he said the first phase that is 13 km will be completed by end of this month. "It was supposed to be completed by June but got delayed due to twenty one days of heavy rain in the region in the month of April."
Stating that the other 13 kms stretch will also be taken up, he said repair work of Charmadi ghat road will be taken up once this work is completed.
Pointing out that there are 9,000 humps across the state, Mahadevappa said 2,000 among them are unauthorised, and steps will be taken to remove them.
