Private mills sugar prices fall on selling pressure

Prices of select private sugar mills eased up to Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following selling pressure amid reduced offtake.

Marketmen said continued supplies from mills to raise funds to clear their dues to farmers, mainly weighed on prices of select private mills.

However, sugar at the spot market ended flat on small buying support from retailers and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers.

In millgate section, sugar Kinnoni, Dorala, Dhampur and Dhanora fell by Rs 15 each to Rs 2,315, Rs 2,275, Rs 2,235 and Rs 2,275 per quintal.
 

Prices of Budhana and Thanabhavan also shed Rs 10 each to Rs 2,270 and Rs 2,260 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 25.00-30.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,350-2,480 S-30 Rs 2,340-2,470.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,235-2,330 S-30 Rs 2,225-2,320.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,310, Kinnoni Rs 2,315, Asmoli Rs 2,285, Dorala Rs 2,275, Budhana Rs 2,270, Thanabhavan Rs 2,260, Dhanora Rs 2,275, Simbholi Rs 2,315, Modi Nagar Rs Not Traded, Khatuli Rs 2,315, Dhampur 2,235, Ramala Rs 2,340, Bulandshaher Rs 2,250, Anupshaher Rs 2,320, Baghpat Rs 2,360, Morna Rs 2,340, Sakoti Rs 2,260, Chandpur Rs 2,250, Nazibabad Rs 2,330 and Malakpur 2,250.
