Insurgent body KPLT's chief held

Insurgent outfit KPLT's chairman Donri Kramsa was arrested by a joint team of police, Army and CRPF from central Assam's Karbi Anglong district this evening.

Superintendent of Police Mukdha Jyoti Mahanta said the chairman of Karbi People's Liberation Tiger (KPLT) has been arrested at Parokhuwa Bazar near Dokmoka town, following a tip off.

A .22 rifle was recovered from Kramsa.

KPLT has been involved in poaching of rhinos in the Kaziranga National Park located in Golaghat district of the state.

A breakaway faction of the Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF), KPLT was formed in 2011 with an objective to carve an autonomous Karbi state out of Assam.
