Intermittent rainfall in North, lightning kills 3 in UP

National capital got scanty rainfall as maximum temperature was recorded at 35.4 Degree Celsius. Minimum was recorded 27.8 Deg C.

Weather remained sultry with the humidity level hovering between 89 and 62 per cent.

In Uttar Pradesh, three persons, including two children, were killed after being hit by lightning as rains lashed few places in the state in the last 24 hours.

Two children were killed when lightning struck them in Meetapur village in Chopan area of Sonbhadra district yesterday.

In Farukkhabad, a man died in lightning at Sikandarpur village in Shamshabad area, they said.

According to Met office, monsoon has been normal over Western UP.

 

Rain and thundershowers occurred at a few places over the region and at isolated places over eastern parts of the state.

Bijnore got 6 cm rainfall, Saharanpur and Mahrauni 5 cm each, Atrauli, Hasanpur, Meerut, Kasganj, Jalesar, Garotha and Powayan got 3 cms each.

Rajasthan had moderate rainfall in several parts.

Eranpura received 17 mm rainfall, followed by Jodhpur at 4.4 mm.

Other places which received showers included Ajmer and Kota divisions, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions, Udaipur and Bikaner.
