The Jammu and Kashmir government has launched a special programme of upgrading transmission and distribution of electricity in as many as 30 towns, including Srinagar and Jammu cities.
"State government has launched special programme of upgrading transmission and distribution of electricity in as many as 30 towns including Srinagar and Jammu cities," Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said while inaugurating Data Recovery Centre established by Power Development Department at Gladni near here today.
Constructed at a cost of about Rs 5 crore the centre is a state-of-art modern facility to smoothen the process of consumer care and provide online billing, payment, enquiry and connection facilities to the consumers.
While receiving the PowerPoint presentation from Power Development Department on the occasion about the functioning of the centre, the Chief Minister underlined the need for strengthening the consumer care service and ensuring quick response to the public grievances regarding power cuts, transformer damages and repairs besides others relating to the individual consumer concern.
