Another jackal was trapped in a cage installed by forest department officials at the premises of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport here today.

With this catch, three jackals and two wild cats have been trapped so far in the airport's premises. The trap has been installed to catch animals which pose a danger to flights.

"One more jackal was trapped in the cage installed near the airport runway," Forest Department's Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) R N Saxena told PTI.

The jackal was later released in the nearby Charol forest area.

The jackal population around the airport poses a danger to flights, since these animals have gone close to aircraft earlier, an airport officer said.

The thickets around the airport are home to around 20 jackals, wildlife experts said.
