The Ramgarh district administration has asked a subsidiary of Coal India, Central Coal Fields (CCL), to pay Rs 4,700 crore for "using" government land for excavation of coal.
Deputy Commissioner Anjneyulu Dodde said here today that letters were sent to the General Managers of all areas of CCL in Ramgarh District asking them to take necessary proceedings for payment of dues towards revenue of government land being used by the public sector.
Digeshwar Tiwari, Additional Collector, Ramgarh, said, "The district administration has sent the letters reminding the company to pay Rs 4,700 crore as it has used government land for coal mining and other industrial activities since its existence.
