KSCSTE to host workshop on science journalism

The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and the Kerala Press Academy, Kochi, are jointly organising a two-day workshop on science journalism in the state capital.

Selected journalists would attend the workshop which aimed at providing valuable advice and guidance on science writing, a press release here said. The workshop would be inaugurated by poet and activist Sugathakumari at Sasthra Bhavan on January 3.

V N Rajasekharan Pillai, Executive Vice President, KSCSTE, will preside over the inaugural function.

V R Ajith Kumar, Secretary, Kerala Press Academy, N P Rajendran, Chairman, Kerala Press Academy and A Prabhakaran Media Consultant, KSCSTE, would attend the function.
 

There would be four sessions on the inaugural day. K K Krishnakumar, former president of Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishad and former secretary, Bharatiya Gyan Vigyan Samiti, New Delhi, would deliver a lecture on the History of science writing in Malayalam.

Gopal Raj, Science Correspondent, 'The Hindu would lead an interactive session on 'Science Reporting in the Indian context: the Challenges ahead.'

Former Chief Secretary C P Nair would be the chief guest at the valedictory on Saturday.
