An employee of Jharkhand land revenue department was caught by the state vigilance red-handed while accepting bribe in Potka block of East Singhbhum district today, Vigilance department officials said.
The arrest was made on the complaint of one Laxmi Singh of Kalikapur village under Potka police station.
Laxmi purchased an agriculture land and approached the Circle Office for settlement. However, an employee Chandrama Ram demanded Rs 5000 as bribe to settle the issue, the officials said.

The vigilance department laid a trap after getting the complaint and arrested Ram while accepting the money from the complainant.
Ram has been taken to Ranchi.
This was the 15th trap case on charges of corruption in the financial year 2015-16, the officials said.
