A local court has sentenced a man to life for murdering his wife.
The prosecution case was that 50-year-old Ranganathan, a fruit vendor, suspected the fidelity of his wife and they frequently quarreled.
On June 25 last year, after they quarreled, he took a nylon rope and strangled her to death.
He was arrested following a complaint from his daughter.
District Mahila court judge N Thirunavukkarasu sentenced him to life yesterday.
