Light rains in some parts of the city

Light rains, after an overnight showers, in some parts of the city today kept the temperature below normal.

The Safdarjung observatory received 21 mm rainfall while the reading at Palam was 16.2 mm.

"The maximum temperature was recorded at 33.3 degrees Celsius while the minimum settled at 25 degrees Celsius, both a notch below normal," a MeT official said.

Humidity levels osscilated between 97 and 69 per cent.

Vehicular movement was affected in various areas across the city, including at ITO, Vikas Marg, South Extension, Khanpur, Mahipalpur, Dhaulakuan, IIT Crossing and Nehru Place.

The weatherman has predicted a cloudy day tomorrow with possibility of thunderstorm and heavy rains towards the evening.
 

"Maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius," the official added.

Yesterday, the mercury had settled at 34.7 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius.
