An 11-year-old daughter of a liquor trader was shot dead allegedly by unidentified persons outside her father's office here, police said today.

She was hit by a bullet from a country-made pistol last night but how the bullet hit her and in what circumstances the pistol was used is a matter of investigation, Superintendent of Police (SP) O P Tripathi said.

The minor girl identified as Mishthi Yadav (11) along with her younger sister and aunt reached her father's office situated behind the liquor shop at Modern Square to collect chocolates when the incident took place.
