Press Trust of India New Delhi
Maize futures were trading mixed today as speculators liquidated positions at existing levels amid pressure in the weak physical market.

In contrast, far-month contract remained the attraction of buyers.

Market players said ample stocks and slacking demand in spot markets weighed down on the first contract prices of maize in futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, maize delivery in April contracts fell by Rs 4, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 1,148 per quintal, with an open interest of 170 lots.

On the other hand, May contracts showed a rise of Rs 7, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 1,159 per quintal with an open interest of 2,010 lots.
