A man was arrested for alleged poppy cultivation and standing crop used to prepare opium destroyed in separate incidents in Rajasthan's Dholpur district, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of police yesterday arrested Nanhe Kushwah from his farm in Khadar village, while Janved Kushwah who owns the poppy field in Jhilra village managed to escape, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Singh said.
Both the accused are relatives and were involved in poppy cultivation for quite some time, he said.

After video-graphing the poppy fields, police destroyed the crops worth lakhs of rupees, Singh said.
Separate cases have been registered at Sepau and Kanchanpur police stations under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, the SP said.
Search is on to apprehend the absconding accused, he added.
