Man arrested for smuggling gold worth Rs 21 lakh at IGIA

A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold worth about Rs 21 lakh at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here.
The accused was intercepted by customs officials after his arrival here from Dubai on Wednesday. He had concealed small pieces of gold total weighing 775 gms in the false cavities of battery operated toys, a customs official said.
The value of the gold is assessed to be Rs 21.42 lakh, he said, adding that the passenger was arrested.
