Man booked for raping woman in Punjab

A man was today booked on charges of raping a 26-year-old woman, whom he promised to marry, police said here today.

The accused has been identified as Harish Sharma who is still at large, SSP Rakesh Kaushal said here.

Harish had been allegedly sexually exploiting the woman and promised to marry her, police said.

However, later he refused to marry her, they said.

Acting on the complaint, a case of rape has been registered against the accused, police said.
