Man commits suicide after stabbing wife

A 50-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after stabbing his wife in Jahidpur village of the district, police said today.

The body was recovered yesterday from an under- construction colony and the deceased has been identified as Krishnaveer, they said.

As per preliminary investigations, the accused committed suicide by consuming poison after he repeatedly stabbed his wife Sarla (48) following a heated argument, they said.

Krishnaveer, who was drunk, also threw acid on her face, they said.

The woman was rushed to a hospital and her condition is stated to be critical, they said, adding, Krishnaveer's body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem.
