A 26-year-old man was today found murdered with his body bearing marks of sharp-edged weapons, near here, police said.
The man has been identified as Vakeel Ram alias Raja of Bir Dhandoli village, near here, Phagwara DSP Manpreet Singh Dhillon said.
Raja, who worked as a mechanic at a private electricity shop, was missing since last night. He was found murdered this morning near a 'nullah' on Ramgarh village road, the DSP said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, he said.
A case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC has been registered and some suspects identified who could be behind the crime, he said.
