Man gets six months imprisonment for adulteration

A local court has awarded six months imprisonment to a man for making synthetic milk solids.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Vijay Verma also imposed a fine of Rs 1500 on Sonu, who was convicted yesterday under the Food Adulteration Prevention Act.

According to prosecution, on complaint of few locals food department officials had conducted a raid and seized 'mawa' from Sonu in Raihlr village of Shamli district.

The samples were sent to laboratory and it was found that the mawa was adulterated, the prosecution said.
