Man, granddaughter drown in water reservoir in Leh

A man and his granddaughter today drowned in a water reservoir near a farm in Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh region, police said.

Murup Dorjay, a shephard, and his grand-daughter Tashi Lamo, residents of Leh's Nidder post, fell into the water reservoir in Nyoma area, a police spokesman said.

The bodies were handed over to their family members after post mortem. The police have registered a case, he said.
