ONGC today handed over Rs 6.78 crore for "clean Tirumala" initiative under Swachh Bharat Mission to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which governs the famous temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here.
This was the first instalment of Rs 13 crore offered by the central public enterprise to the temple as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Director for Human Resources D D Mishra handed over a cheque for Rs 6,78,25,800 towards the initiative to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthnam (TTD) Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal here.

Speaking on this occasion, Singhal said the temple attracted over 2.5 crore devotees annually.
ONGC would release the second instalment amount to the temple soon, Mishra said.
