A 35-year-old woman was
allegedly murdered by her husband over an altercation in a village near here, police said today.
The incident took place last evening under Sodaya police station limits when Rajan Singh (38) went with his wife Dhulvi Devi to her village in Umrali.
While the couple was returning home, they had a heated argument after which Singh picked up stones and assaulted his wife, district additional superintendent of police Sitaram Satya said.
Devi sustained serious head injuries and later died in night, the officer said, adding, Singh informed his brother about the incident and is at large since then.
The deceased's body has been for postmortem and a case of murder under IPC Section 302 has been lodged against Singh.
